Established in 2002, Methodist Girls Degree College, Roorkee a unit of an Agra Regional Conference, of Methodist Chruch in India is a Minority Institution. The college is affiliated to H.NB Garhwal University (Srinagar) and recognized by Minority Commission Govt. of India, New Delhi. Kanahiya Lal D.A.V.(P.G.) College, Roorkee (Uttarakhand) was established in 1960 by Rai Saheb Kanahiya Lal Ji, a visionary philanthropist of Roorkee. Shri Ishwar Dayal Ji was the first Principal of the college who laid a firm foundation of the college.
The college started with the undergraduate course of B.Sc. (Maths). Later, B.Ed. and B.Sc. (Biology) were started in 1964 and 1972, respectively. Now, there are also Post Graduate Programmes running in various subjects namely, Mathematics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Physics along with applied Undergraduate courses like B.Sc. (Microbiology) and B.Sc.(Computer Science) in the college.
The College aims at making learning experience comfortable and interesting in its pursuit and rigorous in its content and curricula. The College also looks forward to expand the facilities to ensure larger reach-out without compromising its standards.
